Antutu benchmark - One of the most popular applications comparing the technical specifications of smartphone models. Around the world, the number of its users has exceeded 100 million. And every month, a new smartphone rating from Antutu is released on the application’s website, where everyone can see which smartphone was recognized as the best.
The criteria are:
- processor power and speed of RAM / external memory;
- the ability of a smartphone to reproduce 2D / 3D graphics;
- the convenience of use.
This rating includes the top 15 most powerful smartphones in August 2017.
15. OnePlus 3
Antutu Total Score: 149678
One of the cheapest 5.5-inch smartphones with the Snapdragon 820 chipset opens the Antutu smartphone performance rating. The manufacturer supplied it with 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, which is even more than is required for extreme multitasking. Another advantage of OnePlus 3 is the main camera of 16 megapixels, f / 2.0, with the function of optical image stabilization and LED flash. In addition, the smartphone can shoot video in 4K UHD resolution, has an NFC chip and a fingerprint sensor, supports fast battery charging and is enclosed in a durable metal case. All these advantages make OnePlus 3 a welcome acquisition.
Its disadvantages include the lack of a microSD card slot and a 3000 mAh battery capacity, which is not enough for the long-term operation of the Snapdragon 820 processor and the Adreno 530 video accelerator.
14. LeEco Le Pro 3
Total score: 154169
One of the main advantages of the device is the very powerful Snapdragon 821 chip, thanks to which for two or three years you don’t have to worry about the smartphone “not pulling” new games and heavy applications. As for the amount of RAM and internal memory, it is from 4 to 6 GB and from 32 to 128 GB, depending on the configuration. For the graphic part, the Adreno 530 video accelerator is responsible.
The quality of the primary 16 megapixel camera is very good even in low light conditions. The main camera has the ability to capture 4K video with a resolution of 30 frames per second. You can also shoot video in slow motion at 720p at 120 frames per second.
The flagship from the LeEco brand carries a 4070 mAh battery on board, which puts it on a par with smartphones with the most powerful battery.
But the microSD card slot is not provided in the device, although it is possible to connect an external flash drive using USB OTG.
13. Lenovo ZUK Z2151
Total score: 156221
This 5.5-inch smartphone is equipped with the high-performance quad-core Snapdragon 821 chipset and the Adreno 530 graphics subsystem, which is not prone to overheating (compared to Mali) and supports all the latest mobile graphics and computing APIs.
The resolution of the main camera is 13 megapixels, and selfie cameras - 8 megapixels. The device is powered by a battery with a capacity of 3100 mAh.
This smartphone has 4 GB of RAM to support multitasking and 32 GB of internal memory for photos, videos, music, movies and applications. In addition, you can expand the phone's memory using a memory card.
12. OnePlus 3T
Total score: 158057
This 5.5-inch smartphone has excellent 3D reproduction performance. And no wonder, because inside it has a quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor from Qualcomm and the latest Adreno 530 video accelerator. Any games available on the Google Play Store will go on such a device without lags and overheating.
The smartphone has 6 GB of RAM for multitasking. An earlier version of OnePlus 3 had problems with running out of memory, but this model has no such flaws.
Like OnePlus, the 3T-labeled model has a 16MP main camera with optical image stabilization and can record video with a resolution of 2160p, i.e. 4K. Slow motion video is possible in 720p resolution at 120 frames per second.
The battery capacity is increased to 3400 mAh (from 3000 mAh), and this guarantees the device up to two days of operation without recharging.
There is no memory expansion slot. But if you can afford the option with an internal storage of 128 GB, then this will not be a problem.
11. iPhone 7
Total score: 158143
The super popular, prestigious, waterproof 4.7-inch smartphone from Apple was only on the 11th line of the rating, since it does not have brilliant performance in 3D graphics. The total score there was 43969, while the nearest “neighbor” of OnePlus 3T had 61960.
But in terms of processor performance, memory and usability, the iPhone 7 has good performance.
Its iOS 10 has a number of applications and features not available for older iPhone models. But the iPhone 7 itself can run almost any application ever built for the iOS platform.
The device has an A10 Fusion chip with four cores: two cores with increased performance and two cores with low power consumption, which consume less battery power during everyday tasks.
Apple claims that the combination of a larger battery that fills the portion of the space previously occupied by the headphone jack, energy-efficient processor, and IOS 10 enhancements allows the iPhone 7 to work two hours more than the iPhone 6S.
And the iPhone 7 has a 12 megapixel camera with f / 1.8 aperture, which in quality of pictures and video can compete with mid-range SLR cameras.
Many users are unhappy that the headphone jack disappeared in the seventh version. There is no memory card slot either. And in appearance, the smartphone is no different from the iPhone 6.
10. Samsung Galaxy S8 (G950U1)
Total score: 164033
Since in the ranking of Galaxy smartphones there are as many as four in different versions, we will write in more detail what S8 is, what S8 + is and how the modifications are not alike.
The plus version of Samsung Galaxy S8 differs from the usual one much less than earlier S7 from S7 Edge. The two main and main differences are the screen diagonal (for an ordinary 5.8 inches, for a plus - 6.2) and the size of the battery (for a plus, it is more than 500 mAh). And the rest they are almost completely identical to each other (provided that the modifications coincide, of course).
Both of them have an original futuristic design with a frameless screen with rounded edges that instantly attracts attention. The 6.2-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2960 × 1440 determines up to 10 touches at the same time, there is anti-glare plus an olefobic coating.
The main camera of 12 MP and a lens with an aperture of f / 1.7 is considered one of the best among smartphones. And the eight-core processor and high-performance video accelerator guarantee that the smartphone will freely pull anything, including games.
True, the Galaxy S8 has its drawbacks, and one of them is the inexpressive sound.
Model S8 G950U1, ranked tenth in the ranking of Antutu smartphones, is intended for the US market. The processor has a Snapdragon 835, and the video adapter - Adreno 540.
9. iPhone 7 Plus
Total score: 167891
Perhaps the fans of the apple company will not agree that the next brainchild of their beloved company took only ninth place in the 2017 Antutu Benchmark smartphone rating. If, in terms of processor power, the iPhone 7 Plus is the undisputed leader (the maximum score in the top ten), then in terms of 3D graphics playback speed) the number of points in the top 10 is minimal. Brief technical specifications: 5.5-inch display, first-used quad-core SoC Apple A10 Fusion chip with integrated PowerVR GT7600 GPU, 2 cameras and 32 to 128 GB of memory without expandability.
8. Sony Xperia XZ Premium G8141
Total score: 168336
A very good 4K display calibrated to incredible clarity, excellent sound, high performance (Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540 video adapter, 4 GB RAM) - all this makes the Sony Xperia XZ Premium G8141 one of the best and most powerful smartphones of 2017. Among the advantages, you can add one of the best selfie cameras.
Sony Xperia's problems are mainly with autonomy (for example, when watching a video, the charge lasts about four hours) and the camera - at night, the shooting quality is frankly poor.
7. Samsung Galaxy S8 + (G9550)
Total score: 170487
The Samsung Galaxy S8 + version shipped to China is equipped with two SIM cards slots, a Snapdragon 835 processor, and its video adapter has Adreno 540. As for the memory, the G9550 comes in two versions - either 64 and 4 GB, or 128 and 6 GB built-in and operational respectively.
6. Mi 6
Total score: 172075
One of the best and most powerful Chinese smartphones, the next flagship from Xiaomi continues to please both quality and performance, and price. Now it is made of steel, not aluminum, like the Mi 5 version and is slightly heavier.
A 5.15-inch display with a resolution of 4k, an eight-core Snapdragon 835 chip, an Adreno 540 graphic adapter, 6 GB of RAM and 64 (or 128) GB of flash memory - all this ensures that even the heaviest toy on the smartphone will just fly. At the same time, a rather large battery of 3350 mAh suggests that you can play for a long time.
Traditionally, Mi 6, like other flagships of Xiaomi, does not have a camera that only shines with quality.
5. Samsung Galaxy S8 (G950F)
Total score: 172610
And this modification of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is designed for the European market and practically does not differ from the American one, with the exception of the processor (here it is Exynos 8895 Octa) and a video adapter (Mali-G71 MP20). Even the coral color of the “cover” of the American version was replaced with pink European, but this is unlikely to affect the performance.
4. Samsung Galaxy S8 + (G955F)
Total score: 172711
The most productive of all S8 + modifications is the SM-G955F model, which is supplied to the European market. It is designed for one SIM card, Exynos 8895 Octa processor, Mali-G71 MP20 video adapter. Memory: 64 GB flash memory, 4 GB for embedded applications.
Despite the manufacturer's assurances that both processors and video adapters are similar to each other, the benchmark Antutu and the smartphone rating based on it clearly show the superiority of the Exynos 8895 Octa and the Mali-G71 MP20 graphics accelerator over the Snapdragon 835 and Adreno 540 video chip.
3. Nubia Z17
Total score: 177122
Another smartphone based on the latest advances in processor engineering is the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, with the maximum number of RAM in the maximum configuration of Nubia's record 8 GB (with 128 GB built-in). Apparently, only the problem with branded shells prevented them from gaining the maximum number of Nubia points - they begin to slow down at the most inopportune moment.
2. HTC U11
Total score: 179883
The processor at HTC is the well-proven eight-core Snapdragon 835, and the graphics adapter is the Adreno 540. The amount of memory is not much different from the rest of the smartphones in the rating - 6 GB of operational, 64 (or 128) GB of internal. Everything else is also up to par - from the color rendering of the display to the camera, one of the best among other smartphones. HTC U11 scored uniformly high scores in all categories, losing only a little to the leader in speed.
1. OnePlus 5
Total score: 181042
The “flagship killer” strikes again - the new smartphone from the Chinese company OnePlus is a worthy competitor to more hyped brands (although, unfortunately, it is already approaching them in terms of price). A 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 4K, a quad-core Snapdragon 835 chipset, an Adreno 540 video adapter, 6 GB of RAM and 64 integrated ones - you can immediately see that the smartphone in terms of hardware "keeps its nose in the wind." The smartphone will pull out both heavy games and 100,500 open tabs in the browser. At the same time, it heats up slightly more than the temperature of the human body. The autonomy of the device is also at its best, and you can watch video on it for at least 15 hours. In general, OnePlus 5 worthily bears the title of the most powerful smartphone of 2017.
