Crossovers and SUVs are the most popular segment of new cars in Russia. According to Autostat, in January-September 2019, Russian motorists bought 516.6 thousand new crossovers and SUVs.
And analysts at Price Auto compiled a “wish list” for next year. The rating of the most anticipated crossovers of 2020 includes both completely new models and updated variations of already popular cars.
8. Audi SQ5 TDI 2020
Recommended retail price: from 4.675 million rubles
The sports version of the luxurious five-seater crossover has got a 3-liter turbodiesel engine and 20-21-inch alloy wheels of special design, available only for this version.
A large tailgate, branded head optics, an impressive false radiator grille and a huge bumper immediately make it clear - this is a solid and strong car for respectable people. Massive wheel arches and rear pillars complement the overall monumental look of the car.
At the same time, the Audi SQ5 TDI does not give the impression of clumsiness, its massiveness is balanced by the falling roof lines, elegant side doors and neat “circles” of fog lamps.
In the diesel version, ground clearance was reduced by 30 mm, its height was sacrificed for the sake of better handling and aerodynamics.
The TDI engine was complemented by an electric compressor and a 48-volt Mild Hybrid system. According to the manufacturer, the “heart” of the Audi SQ5 TDI has reinforced pistons, a crankshaft and connecting rods.
The speed of the new crossover is limited to 250 km per hour.
7. Audi Q5 2020

Here is a combination of the long and venerable pedigree of the German brand with a compact crossover template. The results were impressive. The brutal and at the same time harmonious silhouette is distinguished by a long hood, a sloping roof and very noticeable wheel arches. In addition, the crossover has somewhat grown in size compared to the previous generation. Now its length is 4663 mm and not 4629 mm, and the height is -1659 mm, not 1655 mm. The clearance increased by 8 mm (up to 208 mm). As the saying goes, a trifle, but nice.
The car cabin boasts impeccable build quality and high-class materials such as soft plastic, genuine leather and aluminum.
Each second-generation Q5, designed for Russia, is equipped with a powerful and efficient four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine in combination with a 7-speed robotic gearbox and all-wheel drive.
From zero to a hundred, the crossover accelerates in 6.3 seconds, and its maximum speed is 237 km / h.
6. Volkswagen Tiguan 2020

The 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan is a reliable crossover that doesn't chase trends. Instead, a large family car with a conservative design focuses on ensuring maximum passenger and driver safety.
It is equipped with standard collision avoidance technology, as well as many functions (a driver fatigue recognition system, an indicator that indicates seat belts that are not fastened, an active hood with a pedestrian protection system), etc., depending on the configuration.
Compared with the previous version, the updated crossover has become more overall, has acquired additional chrome elements (in particular, framing the side windows, which themselves have become larger), turning signals on the wheel arches and a stepped relief on the doors.
The shape of the front LED headlights became rectangular, and fog lights and dark air intakes were placed on the rear bumper. The interior is made of genuine leather, and the chairs have become more comfortable.

5. Geely FY11

The new sports car, which in the Chinese market has a different name - Xing Yue - promises to be one of the most inexpensive crossovers of 2020.
Under the hood of the model, which will be available in Russia, is a 1.8-liter gasoline engine providing 133 hp. and 170 Nm of torque to the front wheels. The basic version of Comfort Geely FY11 is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. And in the Luxury configuration - a six-speed “robot” with two clutches, cruise control and an electromechanical handbrake with the AUTO HOLD function (automatic holding of the car).
Both versions are equipped with air conditioning, which automatically regulates the temperature in the cabin, heated front and rear seats, good parking sensors and an advanced audio system with a USB connector and Bluetooth. What can I say? Must take!
4. Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2020

At the heart of the Pajero is a monocoque chassis with a “one-piece frame” - not typical of most 4x4 cars, but capable of blurring the lines between passenger car comfort and off-road durability. The result is a four-wheel drive, which, even considering the age of creation of Mitsubishi, is very pleasant to drive.
At the premiere in Thailand, a restyled version of the frame SUV appeared with a 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine rated at 181 hp, combined with an 8-speed automatic. A model with a V6 3.0 gasoline engine with a capacity of 209 hp will also arrive in Russia.
Among the advantages of Pajero Sport 2020 can be noted a new multimedia system with a large screen and the replacement of traditional devices in the cabin with a more convenient and informative screen.
Also, the elegant "two-story" front optics immediately attracts attention. On the "upper floor" there are LED headlights, and "on the first" - fog lights and turn signals. Changes were made to such elements as the hood, grille, bumpers, front fenders and even the tailgate on which the spoiler appeared.
3. Honda CR-V 2020

In the cabin of the updated crossover, a central console appeared with wireless charging of the smartphone and two USB ports.
But the exterior of the CR-V has undergone the most notable changes, here you can see darkened taillights and large windows with chrome trim and trapezoidal tailpipes for exhaust pipes and bumpers with large chrome inserts.
Basic equipment now comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, previously standard on all other trim levels. And the previous base 2.4-liter version is no longer available.
There is also a hybrid version with a power plant based on a 2-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor with a total capacity of 212 hp. But they are unlikely to bring it to Russia.
2. DS7 Crossback

Almost two years have passed since the premiere of the premium French DS7 Crossback crossover with an engine power from 130 to 180 hp. in diesel and up to 225 hp in gasoline.
When the car finally arrives in Russia, it will compete with such elite cars as the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC. In the diesel version, it will be sold with a 180-horsepower BlueHDi two-liter turbodiesel. in combination with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
But the gasoline 1.6-liter engine was a little “bolted” - with 165 hp. up to 150 hp, although he remained the same maximum torque - 240 Nm. Paired with a motor, a 6-speed automatic transmission works. The drive on the DS7 Crossback will be only front-wheel drive.
1. Opel Grandland X

The mid-size five-seater crossover, despite its foreign roots, will be a purebred Russian “native”. After all, they plan to produce it at a plant in Kaluga.
